Common questions about custom agents

Resolve practical questions about selection, skills, team size and useful examples.

How do I select an agent?

Use the picker or other selection mechanism documented for your Copilot surface. The image lists several client experiences, but availability and controls change. Do not assume a particular protocol integration or mention syntax exists in every host.

Can an agent use skills?

Supported clients can combine a focused agent with reusable task guidance. A skill should explain when it applies and what resources it needs. Review any scripts before allowing them to run.

How many agents should a repository have?

There is no required count. The image suggests starting with a small set for recurring workflows. A better measure than a number is whether each agent has a distinct purpose, useful output and appropriately narrow tools.

Should profiles include examples?

Yes, when examples clarify expected behavior, code patterns or review format. Keep them representative and current. Examples are not permission grants, and example output should not encourage fabricated findings.

Consult the profile reference for current shared behavior and host-specific exceptions.
