Maintain effective custom agents

Combine specific personas, examples, tested model choices and a maintainable repository structure.

Describe expertise and working style

The infographic favors a specific technology or review responsibility over a generic title. Explain whether the agent should ask clarifying questions, report uncertainty, propose changes or implement them. Include examples of useful outputs.

Select models through evaluation

The model table in the image is not a current availability list or endorsed ranking. Names, access, context limits and supported profile settings change by plan, policy and client.

Evaluate the models actually available to you against representative tasks. Consider correctness, tool use, latency and cost. Document the results rather than choosing from an unverified static comparison.

Organize around responsibility

Keep one focused persona per profile and reuse shared skills for repeatable procedures. Version-control changes and test whether the agent still follows the intended workflow after updates.

Guardrails in prose are not sufficient for high-impact actions. Restrict credentials and tools, and preserve human approval where needed.

Check model and tool configuration support in your target environment.
